At Cartapo Creek Meat & Livestock we strive for continual improvement.

This means we will never settle for good enough.

We are always actively looking for ways to improve our products, processes, range, and consumer experience. Any product reviews or feedback on our products or processes is very much encouraged and greatly appreciated, even if you believe your feedback to be insignificant.

Below are some of the ways we achieve superior quality meat:

> From day one, our chickens are housed in clean spacious coops with thermostats keeping the temperature regulated for maximum comfort. Artificial lighting control measures are also incorporated in the early growing process to ensure adequate rest and recovery are achieved.

> As our chickens grow, we introduce corn and crushed grains into their diet. While nutritionally beneficial, this also adds flavour to the meat. Once the fowl are adequately feathered, we allow them to roam outside on the native pastures of our property for additional nutrition (and flavour).

> Studies show water intake for chickens is a major contributing factor in their health and feed conversion. Chickens will consume up to 2 times as much water as food on a weight basis. With this information at hand, we ensure water pH is regularly monitored to ensure it is always between 6.0 & 6.8. as this is the optimum pH for efficient conversion of vitamins & minerals. This ensures the chickens get as much nutrition from their meals as possible and are always in tip-top shape.

> Once our chickens reach maturity, we take them to one of the only remaining hand-processing poultry plants in South Australia. This means our fowl are handled by people with care. While being processed, they are washed down with chlorine-free water. This unique old-fashioned process isn’t as quick as commercial facilities, but we believe it is more humane and allows our end products to have a longer shelf life and remain fresh for up to twice as long as commercial poultry facilities.
